November 4-8 is Red Ribbon Week here at South Hills. This years Red Ribbon Week theme is: Send a message, stay drug free.
We will kick off the week with an assembly on Monday. We are happy to welcome our presenter, Jason Webb. Mr. Webb has been presenting at schools for the past decade on topics that are discussed during Red Ribbon week.
We will also be incorporating dress up days to bring awareness to Red Ribbon week:
Monday: You'd be crazy to try drugs - crazy socks, crazy hair, and crazy hat day
Tuesday: Look to the future, and stay drug free - wear college apparel
Wednesday: Don't let drugs ruin your dreams - pajama day
Thursday: Drugs will turn your life inside out - wear your clothes inside out
Friday: A school united against drugs - wear school colors
Students can earn tickets for dressing up each day. These tickets will be entered into a drawing at the end of the week to win some pretty fantastic prizes provided by our PTSA.
As part of the canned food drive, the National Junior Honor Society students will be sponsoring a movie night on Friday, Sept 20 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The admission to watch this popular PG movie is 1 can per person. Popcorn and water will also be available to purchase for 1 can per item. Come join us for this fun family activity.
The student body is collecting cans for the Utah Food Bank. We are having a competition between first period classes for various rewards. Please send cans to school with your student for this worthy cause. The canned food drive goes through September 30th.
Please see the attached poster for information on Rachel's Challenge, held at SHMS on September 16. We hope you will join us for this important community event. Rachel's Challenge Flyer
